I was still pleasantly full from yesterday’s Thanksgiving meal, but I managed to eat plenty today. A stomach filled with turkey, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, gravy, green bean casserole, corn, cranberries, bread, pumpkin pie, pineapple upside down cake, and Chex mix represents how blessed I am. While a full stomach is an easy blessing to recognize—even writing the list of food I ate at one meal clearly shows how fortunate I am—it is far from the most important way I was blessed. I count it a bigger blessing to have family and friends who love me, jobs that provide good work to do, and a great church to pastor.

- Let’s hunger for godly gifts like love, kindness, patience, forgiveness, and self-control more than physical gifts like food and material presents.
- Let’s be generous with those who may have less.
