On the cross before He died, Jesus offered paradise to one of the robbers crucified with Him. Could it be possible? By the way we live and give we can offer others a bit of paradise?
I think we can.
Recently I attended a celebration of life service. At it we remembered and honored the life of Betty Bennett. Certainly it was a time of shared grief. But even more so, it truly was a celebration of Mrs. Bennett’s life. Her family and friends shared many of the ways Mrs. Bennett had shared joy and hope and love through her words, music, humor, and actions.
Even though I didn’t know Mrs. Bennett, I could see her giving away some of the paradise she knew in Christ while she lived. I fit like I got experience a touch of what paradise might be like that day.
Have you ever been around someone who seems to live their life in a way that makes your better life? It seems like they are offering a little bit of paradise in an often difficult world.
The devotional and Mrs. Bennett’s celebration of life made me wonder:
“Perhaps I too have a paradise to give away to someone” today?
