When 2021 started many people were predicting this year would certainly be easier than 2020. For many of us, I’m not so sure that ended up being true! Many of us faced significant losses and heartache this year. This world can still be a dark, weary, and troubled place. In the midst of it all, at the end of this year Cathy and I count it a great blessing to celebrate with others the hope and love that first Christmas brought us.
This year we are feeling especially grateful knowing we are connected to friends and family all the way from our little town Tyner, Indiana, to the giant city of Manila. Cathy and I get to share Christmas joy with people in Texas, Michigan, Illinois, Massachusetts, Oregon and other US states as well as countries around the world. As I type this in cold, cloudy, rainy Tyner, I get to join in Spirit at least with people on the warm, beautiful islands of Puerto Rico and Dominican Republic in celebrating Jesus’ birth.
