When our boys were little, they had exchanges with grandparents, aunts and uncles, and their parents that went something like this:
“I love you!” “Well, I love you to the moon!” “But I love you to the moon and back!”
And when Toy Story came out, we were loving each other to “infinity and beyond!”
The boys were given several copies of the popular book Love You Forever by Robert Munsch when they were born. They were read this book many, many times when they were little.
Not just children need to be told they are loved.
Jesus has something important to tell you this Holy Week. You are loved. He loves us so much He loved us even to death.

as actually to die a criminal’s death on a cross.

That Jesus would die for them is hard for most people to believe. It doesn’t make sense to me most of the time. But it is the heart of the gospel. It is the reason Jesus came to Earth. He came because He loves us. He loved us enough to lay down His life for us.
It doesn’t matter who you are or what you’ve done. Jesus says, “I love you.”
My prayer this Holy Week is that we might grow in our belief that Jesus really does love us all. He loves you, me, those we love, those we don’t. Jesus loves us so much He loved us all to death.
