Jesus gives His disciples several commands. His disciples are to follow, to obey, and to go. Perhaps most importantly they are commanded to love. I ended my last blog with this command from Jesus: “Come to Me.” Based on conversations with people this week, maybe this command is the one many of us most need to heed right now. People I know are weary this week for a multitude of reasons. People are burdened with illness, injury, family concerns, overwhelming busyness, job loss or poor job conditions. Some people are burdened with the need for help that comes in later life. Are you weary or burdened in any way? Jesus says, “Come to me.” This is just another encouragement to find time this week to boldly go to the One who cares for you with whatever burden you are carrying. Be honest with Him. He loves you and is gentle. Give Him your load and let Him show you the way. Blessings! Jeff | “Come to Me all you who are weary and heavy burdened…” Matthew 11:28a |
