It is that time of year again! Back to school time. Cathy and I are going back to school at Bethel University this week too. I’m getting my backpack ready today. Here is a picture of TJ going to school on his first day of kindergarten. Will wants to go along and learn with him!
This is at least my 50th fall getting ready for school! With all that experience I get to preach our back-to-school message this coming Sunday, August 15, at Tyner UMC.
While I’ve had many great educational experiences, the truth is for a disciple of Jesus the opportunity to learn never ends. My challenge this Sunday for those attending or listening to the message online will be to consider what we are learning and who we are learning from whatever our age or season of life.
Even if you aren’t heading back to school, I encourage you to never stop learning from Jesus. Followers of Jesus are called disciples because the word disciple literally means learner. Being Jesus’ student is not always easy, but Jesus loves you and knows what is best for you.
What are you learning in this season of life? Who are you learning from? Consider "going back to school" with Jesus and letting Him be your most important teacher.
